Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree
- 12+ years of related work experience
- 10+ years planning, design and construction experience with minimum 2+ years’ experience
- experience managing team of direct reports
- knowledge of design and engineering techniques, airport airfield designations, construction management process and vernacular
- understanding of Portfolio, Program and Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK)
- background in construction safety and capital improvement planning for facilities
- must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- successful completion of interview
- reliable punctual attendance
- this position is located in Houston and follows a hybrid schedule
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of design and engineering techniques and airport designations
- understanding of design and construction management processes
- familiarity with Portfolio, Program and Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK)
- background in construction safety and facility management
- experience in aviation

Job Duties
- establish and maintain strong business relationships with airport leaders
- manage ongoing or planned airport projects to develop master plans benefiting United Airlines
- provide input on airline impacts and collaborate on planning, design, or construction revisions
- develop long-term capital improvement plans including condition assessments and maintenance planning
- implement initiatives and manage team to plan, design and execute airport and commercial property construction projects
- manage development, programming, planning, design, construction, schedule, and budget issues
- ensure compliance with budget, schedule, and scope per approved business case
- govern the project management lifecycle process, artifacts, and guidelines
- manage and audit project management deliverables
- utilize project tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and Oracle
- ensure projects meet defined metrics
- provide transparent, accurate and consistent project reporting
- serve on governance board for all projects within the team portfolio
- effectively lead teams by establishing department and individual goals
- oversee performance and improvement plans
- coach and assist employees with career development and training
- provide decision making and guidance in strategic implementation
- foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- model integrity and accountability
- communicate transparently with team, leadership, stakeholders, and customers
- mentor and develop an empowered and engaged team
