Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education
  • One year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate various maintenance and custodial equipment
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and comply with institutional policies
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Less than high school education
  • One year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn institutional software
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform custodial and maintenance tasks effectively
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepares facilities for student, university, or public functions
  • Moves and assembles furniture and equipment involving heavy lifting
  • Notifies supervisor of repair needs and performs minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs
  • Smoothes surfaces and prepares walls or furniture for painting
  • Drives vehicle to transport crew and equipment and performs minor vehicle maintenance
  • Outlines surfaces with paint such as parking lots and crosswalks
  • Operates maintenance equipment including compressors and floor scrubbers
  • Performs custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills using lifts when necessary
  • Opens and closes campus buildings as scheduled
  • Works flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Carries a two-way radio and remains on call as required
