Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • One to two years kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
  • Maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Umstead Hotel standards

Job Duties

  • Lead by example through hands-on involvement of all aspects of Herons production and service
  • Represent the Executive Chef's core values of quality, sanitation, and fair treatment of all associates
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workplace as implemented by the Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine
  • Report directly to the Chef De Cuisine and/or the Sous Chef Team
  • Support preparation and cooking of menu items to meet quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Foster positive team collaboration in the kitchen
