Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years of kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
  • Maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance according to The Umstead Hotel standards
  • Ability to work during PM/evening shifts

Job Duties

  • Lead by example through hands-on involvement of all aspects of Herons production and service
  • Represent the Executive Chef's core values of quality, sanitation and fair treatment of all associates
  • Maintain a clean, organized and efficient workplace as implemented by the Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine
  • Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and standards
  • Collaborate with the Sous Chef team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Support team members and communicate effectively to ensure high-quality service
