The role of General Laborer - Landscape Crew Member at Focal Pointe is a full-time position focused on maintaining and enhancing various outdoor spaces. This role is essential to ensuring that landscapes under the company's care remain healthy, attractive, and well-kept. The laborer will work closely with team members and crew leaders to perform tasks that range from planting and caring for trees, shrubs, and flowers to operating landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers. Safety protocols and attention to detail are critical aspects of this position to not only protect the crew but also to maintain the high standards expected by Focal Pointe's clients.

The General Laborer is responsible for a variety of physical tasks that support landscape upkeep, including mowing lawns, trimming, edging, mulching, and general outdoor clean-up. The job requires hands-on physical labor and familiarity with both powered and manual landscaping tools. With no supervisory responsibilities, this role encourages collaboration and effective communication within the team to accomplish landscaping projects efficiently. The position demands physical endurance and the ability to handle repetitive motions while standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Working conditions are primarily outdoors across various client sites, and the schedule typically follows a Monday through Friday routine from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility available. Overtime, evening, weekend work, and occasional travel may also be required to meet project demands. Job Duties

  • Consistently uphold and exceed Focal Pointe’s quality standards in all landscaping tasks
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in pairs and larger groups to complete projects efficiently
  • Operate and maintain powered landscaping equipment, including mowers, line trimmers, backpack blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, sod cutters, and aerators
  • Maintain and enhance established landscapes by mowing, mulching, aerating, weeding, trimming shrubs, removing plants, and edging around flower beds, walkways, and walls
  • Utilize hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hand pruners, and hedge trimmers to complete detailed landscape work
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using shears, pruners, and chainsaws to promote healthy growth and maintain a polished appearance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
