Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform all duties as outlined in the standard operating procedures for couriers
  • Pick up and deliver samples, bottle orders and report to the laboratory for sign-in and analysis
  • Count the number of samples when receiving them from clients to ensure chain of custody and samples match
  • Verify samples are not broken or damaged
  • Receive and sign the chain of custody
  • Ensure client signs, dates, and records time on the chain of custody when releasing samples
  • Transport samples on ice between client sites, laboratory and subcontractors
  • Unload samples and inspect for damage or hold time violations
  • Interact with project managers and clients professionally
  • Follow directions and use maps to locate client offices/sites
  • Communicate effectively with courier coordinator about schedule
  • Record arrival and departure times in courier log book for all pick-ups and deliveries
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance records and driving miles
  • Restock supplies and verify bottle orders before delivery
  • Comply with transportation and fleet safety policies
  • Maintain shipping/receiving area for safety
  • Prepare outgoing shipments of bottle kits and coolers
  • Perform on-site sampling events as needed
  • Dispose of samples following EPA and safety requirements
  • Keep delivery vehicle in proper working order
  • Label samples post log-in as needed
  • Perform additional sample control duties as assigned
