Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and short correspondence
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- Willingness to frequently immerse hands in water and chemical solutions
- Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Capability to work in a hot kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and HACCP standards
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Comfortable interacting with customers
- Experience in a high-volume casual dining environment preferred
- Knowledge of cooking methods including soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
