Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a related environment
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work in a hot environment
  • Frequent use of hands in water and water diluted with chemicals
  • Frequent use of sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates

Job Qualifications

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Knowledge of soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • Ability to converse comfortably with customers
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
  • Ability to work in hot environment

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
