Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a related environment
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Ability to lift and or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work in a hot environment
- Frequent use of hands in water and water diluted with chemicals
- Frequent use of sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
Job Qualifications
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- Ability to converse comfortably with customers
- Ability to lift and or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Ability to work in hot environment
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
