Job Requirements

  • high school graduate or GED
  • three years of experience in institutional food preparation
  • must be ethical, self-motivated, dependable and detail oriented
  • must be able to interface easily with clients, staff and management
  • must meet routine office physical demands including lifting up to 20-pound objects and climbing stairs
  • must possess dexterity and vision to operate computers and equipment
  • must have a valid driver’s license
  • must successfully complete probationary employment period

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or GED
  • three years of experience in institutional food preparation
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • knowledge of Department of Public Health requirements
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to analyze and solve problems effectively
  • ability to multitask and manage priorities
  • ability to work independently
  • preferred but not required completion of culinary school or training program

Job Duties

  • perform food service duties
  • prepare meals and snacks
  • complete kitchen inspections weekly
  • monitor for compliance with building, fire, safety, health codes and requirements of regulatory bodies
  • assist Food Service Supervisor with ordering of food and donations
  • assist Food Service Supervisor with maintenance of food service budgets
  • assist Food Service Supervisor with staff scheduling and coverage
  • handle client food service grievances
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
