Job Requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in hot and cold kitchen conditions
- Ability to read and understand recipes, tickets and safety instructions
- Must meet health and safety regulations
- Ability to handle potentially hazardous chemicals
- Must maintain Denny's uniform and grooming standards
- Must pass required tests and training
- Dependable and able to learn basic tasks
- Reasonable oral and written English communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Basic math skills including units of measure
- Strong product and menu knowledge
- Excellent guest service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook and present food to order following company menu and food specifications
- Adhere to federal, state and local safe food handling regulations
- Maintain proper food temperatures and storage
- Organize and maintain work areas, coolers and storage areas
- Assist with product inventory and deliveries
- Clean and take care of kitchen equipment
- Complete side work and deep cleaning assignments timely
- Monitor waste and food cost controls
- Address customer complaints courteously and notify supervisor
- Provide prompt and courteous service
- Assist service assistants as needed
- Follow Denny's Brand Standards and internal policies
