Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures
- adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and control loss
- follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- comply with local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a fast-paced and stressful environment
- manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
