Job Requirements
- Must have two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
- Must know menu and specials
- Must know wine list
- Must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
- Must understand liquor liability laws
- Must know accounting procedures
- Must be willing to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Must be courteous pleasant and good natured
- Must communicate with and understand the average guest
- Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
- Must stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
- Must work nights weekends and holidays
- Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Must open beer liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack when bar back is not available
- Must be physically able to move cases of beer wine or liquor
Job Qualifications

- Understanding of liquor liability laws
- Accurate mathematic skills
- Ability to communicate with guests and co-workers effectively
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage bar operations
- Familiarity with accounting procedures
- Ability to handle cash responsibly
Job Duties
- Arrange and set up beverages beverage mixes and supplies in an efficient and professional manner according to standing operating procedure
- Complete all side work when and as assigned
- Prepare ingredients needed for recipes of mixed beverages
- Safely use equipment and utensils as prescribed in preparation of beverages
- Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
- Use proper method according to standing operating procedure to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
- Count and be responsible for cash drawer
- Operate all functions of bar service alone and without assistance if necessary
- Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar utilizing available communication equipment including computer register system
- Communicate cordially clearly and effectively with co-workers
- Communicate with guests in a friendly courteous and service oriented manner
- Accurately record and account for all items served to guests and other employees
- Account for and maintain security of bar stock inventory
- Relate to guests pleasantly and with good humor
- Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of bar service according to standing operating procedure
- Assist host staff with answering telephones
