Job Requirements
- Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
- Must know menu and specials
- Must know wine list
- Must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
- Must understand liquor liability laws
- Must be familiar with accounting procedures
- Must meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
- Must communicate with and understand the average guest
- Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
- Must stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
- Must work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Must open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine or liquor when bar back is not available
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Knowledge in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wines including distinctions and usage
- Strong mathematic skills for accurate cash handling
- Understanding of liquor liability laws
- Familiarity with menu, specials, wine list, and liquor recipes
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with guests and team members
- Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods
- Friendly and service-oriented personality compatible with restaurant image
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers at the bar and lounge
- Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies professionally
- Complete all assigned side work efficiently
- Prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes
- Safely use equipment and utensils for beverage preparation
- Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
- Follow proper pour methods to ensure accurate alcohol measures
- Count and maintain responsibility for cash drawer
- Operate all bar functions independently if needed
- Take and fulfill food orders from bar guests using register system
- Communicate cordially and effectively with co-workers
- Engage guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner
- Accurately record and account for all items served
- Maintain security and inventory of bar stock
- Relate to guests pleasantly and with good humor
- Perform duties to ensure compliance with bar procedures
- Assist host staff with answering telephones
