Job Requirements
- Standing for long periods (6-8 hours) or entire shift serving meals and cleaning dining room
- walking and climbing (stairs and ladders) to access food service areas
- carrying and lifting supplies, boxes, trays up to 50 lbs at waist and shoulder height
- bending, kneeling, reaching to store/retrieve supplies and serve meals
- good sight, reading, wrist movement, feeling to serve meals and beverages and operate equipment
- good talking and hearing to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and guests
- ability to work evening and weekend hours
- willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain professional appearance
- prefer candidates at least 18 years of age
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED desired
- some experience (0-3 months) in catering or full-service dining strongly desired
- bartending skills strongly desired
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to interact with guests effectively and courteously
- willingness to learn and grow
- strong interpersonal skills
- maturity of judgment and behavior
- valid driver’s license and appropriate references
Job Duties
- Meet or exceed regulatory and professional standards for alcohol and food display, handling and storage
- meet or exceed regulatory and professional standards for cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas and equipment
- promptly acknowledge guests in a courteous and professional manner
- respond to guests’ questions and complaints promptly and in a manner that reflects the Mission, Vision and Spirit of the USSRC
- meet or exceed Catering Manager/Catering Supervisor expectations for accurate and timely completion of tasks and assignments
- set-up and breakdown tables, decorations, equipment, serving areas, and related activities in an accurate and timely manner
- serve prepared alcoholic beverages to guests in an accurate and timely manner
- ensure guests have adequate beverage throughout dinner
- ensure food service equipment is properly secured upon conclusion of catering function
