Job Description
The hiring establishment is a dynamic hospitality venue that frequently hosts events requiring a seamless and efficient bar service. This company values teamwork, punctuality, and adherence to health and safety standards, striving to maintain an exceptional guest experience through well-stocked and clean bar facilities. The organization operates in an environment with varied event-driven schedules ensuring that all bartenders are adequately supported to serve guests promptly and responsibly. They offer competitive hourly compensation, with this particular role paying $15 per hour. Additionally, part-time employees have access to a 401(k) savings plan and matching, demonstrating the company's commitment to supporting their workforce both in the short and long term.
The Bar Back role is integral to the operations of the bar team, functioning primarily as the logistical and operational support for bartenders during events. The individual in this position is responsible for restocking the bar with all necessary products, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, ice wells, and various supplies such as napkins, cups, and utensils. This keeps the bartenders well-equipped and able to focus on customer service and safety. The lead duties also include ensuring that bar equipment is clean, operational, and prepared prior to events, maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and its surrounding areas by following proper sanitation procedures such as mopping floors and emptying trash, and keeping the storage areas clear of clutter.
An essential aspect of this role involves vigilance and responsibility, especially in relation to alcohol service policies. The Bar Back must be able to identify guests who may be visibly intoxicated and act accordingly to alert the bartenders to maintain a safe environment for all patrons. This person also needs to uphold high standards of sanitation, health, and safety within their working area.
Excellent attendance and reliability are crucial in this role as the Bar Back is expected to be available and punctual for scheduled events, often working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and event-driven environment. The position is designed for individuals who can communicate clearly and respectfully with both staff and guests, fostering a positive and cooperative atmosphere. While prior experience in a high-volume bar setting is preferred, the company emphasizes the importance of possessing valid food handling certifications and alcohol service permits as per local laws.
Overall, this opportunity is ideal for someone looking to enter or advance in the event hospitality industry, offering a supportive work environment with the stability of ongoing schedules through to April 10, 2026. This role provides valuable experience in a busy setting and the chance to develop skills in inventory management, guest safety awareness, and teamwork within a reputable and structured workplace.
