Job Duties
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering product questions
- gain and maintain knowledge of bakery products to respond to customer inquiries
- prepare bakery items using proper equipment
- offer product samples to customers
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality and review sell-by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
- maintain a positive attitude
- familiarize with store layout to assist customers in locating products
- stay current with seasonal and special ads
- monitor inventory and report discrepancies
- adhere to food safety regulations
- maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and log temperatures
- comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs
- report customer or employee accidents
- report safety risks, illegal activities including robbery, theft, or fraud
- perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
