Job Requirements

  • graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major in dietetics food and nutrition food service management nutrition education or related field
  • three years full-time experience in institutional or commercial food service management
  • valid and current food safety certification (servsafe) from a nationally recognized food safety program
  • ability to counsel train and evaluate staff
  • strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • experience in administrative and budgetary processes relevant to food service management

Job Qualifications

  • graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major in dietetics food and nutrition food service management nutrition education or related field
  • three years of full-time experience in institutional or commercial food service management
  • experience managing or assisting in managing large-scale food service programs in a school district desirable
  • dietician license may substitute one year of required experience
  • knowledge of federal state and county regulations related to school nutrition programs

Job Duties

  • assist in planning and organizing district-wide food service programs
  • direct and review food service operations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • develop nutritional programs that meet National School Lunch requirements
  • counsel, train, and evaluate performance of department staff
  • collaborate with administrators, supervisors, and coordinators to manage personnel and processes
  • ensure food safety and public health standards are maintained
  • oversee administrative tasks related to budgeting and reporting
