Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant hotel sales experience
- Experience overseeing sales for multiple hotels preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with ownership groups and asset management
- Proficiency in sales automation and property management systems
- Experience collaborating with revenue management and operations
- Strong market segment and distribution channel knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills to manage and motivate a sales team
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a DOSM or sales leader with prior hotel sales experience
- Preferred experience in area or regional sales oversight of multiple hotels
- Experience communicating with ownership groups and asset management
- Proficient in managing sales automation systems such as DELPHI or STS and PMS systems
- Experience working collaboratively with revenue management and operational teams
- Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel distribution sources with ability to develop strategic plans
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate, and drive a direct sales team
- Skilled in developing cooperative and competitive team spirit and a winning attitude
- Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
Job Duties
- Lead and drive top line revenue for customary sales segments including group and volume transient for primary and other assigned area hotels
- Assess and react to market trends, market share, and competitive hotel environment
- Develop and implement a marketing communications plan to achieve desired hotel positioning and manage sales and marketing budget
- Act as the hotel's voice of the customer and communicate key issues at all organizational levels
- Use Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, sales mix, forecasting, group pace, and hotel reporting to inform strategies
- Understand and communicate market trends, demand generators, supply/demand and economic factors affecting hotel performance
- Conduct competitive set reviews, SWOT analysis, and monitor new supply
- Develop and implement key segment strategies and manage key accounts
- Design sales deployment schemes and market assignments
- Establish sales goals to achieve budget and market share targets
- Manage group pace measurement and sales production goals
- Oversee sales activity and travel schedules
- Manage owner relations, communications, and expectations
- Lead and motivate a team of Senior Sales Managers for the area
