Job Requirements

minimum age 21
degree in culinary arts, nutrition, or home economics preferred
2+ years of experience related to food and cooking or sales and product demonstrations
ability to complete wine selling and TABC certifications
ability to stand constantly during shifts
ability to occasionally perform physical activities such as sitting, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, and lifting up to 60 lbs
willingness to work flexible hours
strong customer service passion
food safety compliance
personal protective equipment use
knowledge of merchandising
ability to perform fine motor movements safely

Job Qualifications

degree in culinary arts, nutrition, or home economics preferred
minimum 2 years of related experience in food preparation, cooking, or sales
strong customer service and communication skills
knowledge of basic cooking techniques such as grill, sauté, roast, and fry
ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to flexible work hours
familiarity or willingness to learn H-E-B systems and processes
ability to read and interpret safety and procedural documents
completion or ability to complete H-E-B Wine selling certification
completion or ability to complete TABC certification

Job Duties

perform selling activation events in the Cooking Connection kitchen
assist in developing recipes targeted to the local customer base
engage customers by creating food experiences using ingredient and beverage knowledge
educate customers on cooking techniques and menu planning
conduct cooking demonstrations and execute food prep methods
provide culinary advice including substitutions for dietary needs
suggest beverage pairings
build and maintain customer relationships by recalling preferences
contribute to in-store cooking events and educational sessions
maintain merchandising standards and displays at the Connections kitchen
ensure food safety compliance and sanitation standards
operate kitchen equipment properly and maintain cleanliness
prep products using mise-en-place
support food production for retail sale
participate in total store events and themed promotions
