SOUTHMINSTER INC

Southminster is a non-profit, charitable Life Plan community located in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to providing innovative living solutions for seniors across a full continuum of care.

Established in 1987 through the collaboration of Christ Episcopal and Myers Park Baptist churches, Southminster has grown to become a premier retirement community in the SouthPark area.

Expansion and Facilities

Over the years, Southminster has expanded its facilities to meet the evolving needs of its residents.

In 2023, the community completed a significant $140 million expansion, introducing new residences and advanced healthcare facilities.

This expansion included the addition of Southminster Terraces, featuring boutique apartments with high ceilings, open floor plans, and oversized windows.

It also added Embrace Health at Southminster, a state-of-the-art short-term rehabilitation, assisted living, and skilled nursing care center.

Community Outreach

In February 2025, Southminster partnered with Memory & Movement Charlotte to introduce "Step into the Story," an innovative caregiver training program.

This program is designed to empower professional caregivers to build deeper relationships with seniors and provide compassionate care.
